There was a time when you were cool if you had a phone with a touch-screen, but not anymore. Since Nokia launched it’s first Symbian touch-screen phone and other producers have been experimenting with this kind of phones and having success like LG, HTC and Sony Ericsson, something new is needed.

Introducing the folding screen:

A Taiwanese research institute on Friday revealed a folding display on a smartphone that allowed its screen to double in size to 5-inches.

The mock-up smartphone, developed to showcase the screen, is styled like other smartphones and opens like a book turned on its side so when open the display is on the top half and the bottom half is the keyboard.

Now that is cool!

We don’t have to forget that Nokia had a concept name Nokia Morph, which was folding on your arm or wherever you want, but this is the first attempt to actually create something like this.

Why Make An Application That’s Built In? To Make It More Usable

Some built-in applications are limited to only a few features which could be improved. That’s why this kind of applications appear. To make an almost prefect application perfect.

You can configure any button to do whatever you want it to do and launch any application (I’ve been dreaming for this function)
For example if you don’t use one of the buttons from your Symbian phone (like camera button and so on) you can configure it to be useful by forcing it to start an application that you actually use.
Supports left/right soft-key and even the green/red keys.
As most of us use the Contacts application for dialing in most of the cases we don’t dial a number from our keypad so why not map the numbers and make them launch applications?

Another Simple But Useful Application

A good phone-lock application is really priceless and even if this one isn’t that easy to use, it’s meant to be used by Wondows Mobile Users who should be experienced enough not to have problems.

You have to edit it and it will lock down the application you want
The problem is with the configuration of this application. It has some difficulties but you can find answers to most of your questions on the forum
Updates will be available and it takes some time to get the application to work perfectly but it’s a good idea and it’s worth trying since it’s for free
